Joseph DiRico will stand Dr Disco, a multiple stakes-winning son of DiRico’s late stallion Disco Rico, at Keane Stud for the 2020 breeding season. Philippe Lasseur, who owns and manages the farm, commented, “We are thrilled to have such a consistent son of Disco Rico at Keane Stud, the farm that stood his sire for seven seasons from 2008 to 2014.”

Dr Disco, who raced in New York every year from two to six, is a multiple stakes winner and multiple stakes-placed runner. Dr Disco was a consistent performer for Repole Stable retiring with eight wins, seven seconds and six thirds from 34 starts and earning $359,507.

Second in his juvenile debut, Dr Disco won next out in an Aqueduct maiden special weight, finishing just one-fifth of a second off the current track record. Following a pair of allowance wins at three, he finished third in the Packett’s Landing Stakes and second in the Hudson Handicap at Belmont Park before winning the Vodka Stakes at Aqueduct. At four Dr Disco won the Leon Reed Memorial H. at Finger Lakes.

Dr Disco is out of the speedy Dr. Blum mare Dr Margaret, a five time stakes-winning dam of three other stakes horses: Dance Gal Dance ($273,070), Dr Rico, and Judge Margaret. Judge Margaret is the dam of Saint Alfred ($336,315), Dr Ruthless ($227,168) and Dr. Capote, who went on to produce stakes winner Dr Blarney ($628,640) and 5 other winners.

DiRico commented, “This is an extremely fast family, Dr Disco’s full sister Dance Gal Dance broke the stakes record winning the Fleet Indian S. at Saratoga in 1:21 3/5.”

Dr Disco is the sire of The Dr’s Slippers, on the board in 3 or 4 starts at 2 this year. His 2020 fee is private. For more information contact Philippe Lasseur at (845) 373-9601.
