Incentives
New York Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund Corporation administers an awards and incentives program for thoroughbreds foaled in New York who race on New York tracks. The program, which provides incentive awards to participants and purse ehancements for races resticted to New York-breds, was developed in 1973 to encourage the establishment of thoroughbred farms in New York that would protect and expand green space.
Breeder's Awards
A breeder is the owner of the mare at the time the mare foals in New York
State. There are two tiers of Breeder's Awards for all races run in New York State:

*A New York-sired New York-bred is sired by a registered New York Stallion. A non-New York-sired New York-bred is sired by an out-of-state stallion or a non-registered New York stallion.
Stallion Owner's Awards
Stallion Owner's Awards for all races run in New York State are paid to owners of stallions registered in New York at the time of conception. The awards are 10% of purse money earned for first through third place by progeny of registered New York Stallions. There is a $10,000 cap per award.
Open Owner's Awards
For all open company races in New York State with a minimum claiming price of $30,000, there are two tiers of Open Owner's Awards:
