Jeffrey Bloom of Bloom Racing Stable has announced that following his career, multiple Graded stakes winner Majestic City will stand the 2016 breeding season at Questroyal North in Stillwater. Barry Ostrager commented, “Questroyal is thrilled to stand a stallion with the speed, class, and durability of Majestic City. We’ve been pursuing him (as a stallion prospect) for many months and we will heavily support him with our own mares.” The stud fee for the syndicated stallion has been set at $3,500 live foal.

A precocious 2-year-old, Majestic City broke his maiden with an impressive wire-to-wire victory in his career debut at Hollywood Park. He set fractions of :21.91 and :45.10 en route to a 1 1/2-length score in :51.27 for 4 1/2 furlongs, just three-fifths off the track record.

In his next two starts, Majestic City captured the Willard Proctor Memorial by 3 1/2 lengths, followed by a 2 1/4-length score in the Grade 3 Hollywood Juvenile Championship. Nearly making it four straight victories, in a ferocious stretch battle he fell a neck short of Drill in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity and was DQ’d to third place. In the Grade 1 Breeders Futurity at Keeneland, he finished second by three-quarters of a length.

Majestic City was ranked co-seventh on the Experimental Handicap at 119 lbs., ahead of champion sprinter Trinniberg, Secret Circle, Gemologist, Alpha and Drill. He is City Zip’s top son standing at stud by Class Performance Index (CPI).

Majestic City won Graded stakes from 2 to 6 earning $579,710. He finished in the top four in 13 stakes, 11 graded, competing at 10 tracks. His sire, City Zip, has sired three champions, earners of more than $62 million, and is the only stallion to have three Breeders’ Cup winners over the past two years.

Jeffrey Bloom said, “Majestic City has provided spectacular experiences for our racing program and partners. His physical attributes are remarkably stunning and we are thrilled to partner with the Questroyal team.   We are confident he will be a success at stud in New York.”
