(Edited Press Release)

Grade 1 Winner and leading second-crop sire Bob and John will stand at Highcliff Stallions at Mill Creek Farm in Stillwater, New York for the 2013 breeding season.

The 9-year-old son of Seeking the Gold, who is relocating from Pin Oak Stud near Versailles in Kentucky, will continue to stand as a partnership between Magnolia Racing and Pin Oak Stud and will join fellow Magnolia Stable stallion Congaree at the farm, which is located outside of Saratoga Springs.

“We are very excited to add a stallion the caliber of Bob and John to our roster,” said resident veterinarian Dr. C. Lynwood O’Cain.  “His sales horses were well received by horsemen from the start and he has sired stakes horses on multiple surfaces,” continued O’Cain.  “We are very interested in having a successful sire of stakes winners from the sire family of Broad Brush and Capote at Highcliff Stallions.”

A graded stakes horse at 2, 3, and 4, Bob and John won the Grade 1 Wood Memorial, Grade 3 Sham, Grade 3 Lone Star Park H., and placed in the Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity, Grade 2 San Felipe, Grade 3 Texas Mile S., El Cajon and Real Quiet, earning $996,330 (5-3-3 from 14 starts).

“Being the winner of such a signature Derby prep as the Grade 1 Wood Memorial in New York, we feel that Bob and John will be quickly recognized by New York breeders as a serious opportunity,” commented Pin Oak Stud manager Clifford Barry.  “Bob and John has sired several significant winners at Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct as well as other top tracks across the country and his runners perform well on all surfaces.”
