Haveyougoneaway, a multiple stakes winner in Arkansas and Oklahoma, is beginning to make people sit up and take notice in her native state. Second to the accomplished Bar of Gold while making her New York debut in the Critical Eye Stakes at Belmont Park on May 30, the 5-year-old Congrats mare overhauled the frontrunners in the final furlong to beat a salty field in Sunday’s six-furlong, $100,000 Dancin Renee for New York-bred fillies and mares.

Racing for Champion Racing Stable and trainer Allen Milligan through April 14 of this year, Haveyougoneaway is now in Tom Morley’s barn and sports the colors of Sequel Stable.

She was well-supported at the windows for the race as the 5-2 co-second choice along with Quezon, both behind 7-5 favorite Hot City Girl, the Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks winner, who was making her first start since February.

Away cleanly from post six at the break, Haveyougoneaway was content to race near the back of the field in the early stages, several lengths off a blistering pace set by Perfect Freud (:21.95) and Hot City Girl (:45.21).

Advancing through the turn and sailing through a seam at the quarter pole to assume the three path, Haveyougoneaway began to hunt down the tiring Hot City Girl and energetic Quezon. Taking over inside the final furlong and kicking way, she won by a decisive 2 3/4 lengths geared down. Quezon finished second, 4 1/2 lengths ahead of Hot City Girl.

Winning jockey Kendrick Carmouche said, “She broke very well and I was just waiting for position to get inside. . . Once I angled out at the eighth pole, I knew I had a lot of horse left so I just rode her home from there.”

Carmouche added, “All the props go to Thomas Morley and the connections. I’m just happy to be on this horse.”

Said Morley, who was celebrating his first stakes win as a trainer, “When I first saw the past performances of this race, with all the speed in there, I really thought this race would shape out in our favor. We knew we would get the six furlongs.

Morley continued, “We got beat by a Grade 1-placed filly [Bar of Gold] last time [in the Critical Eye], and beat a graded-placed filly this time.

“[Haveyougoneaway] showed a lot of gears going six furlongs today against a set of good fillies knocking heads up front today. She was very impressive. She stalked the trip perfectly and, after that, it was done and dusted in a couple of strides.”

Bred by Andy and Susan Beadnell and foaled at Bead Land & Cattle Company in Pottersville, Haveyougoneaway is the most accomplished of two winners out of One Wise Cowgirl, an unraced New York-bred daughter of Wiseman’s Ferry also bred by the Beadnells.

Winner of the Flashy Lady Stakes at Remington Park in September 2015, Haveyougoneaway nearly swept the filly and mare sprint series at Oaklawn Park this year, winning the American Beauty and Spring Fever Stakes and finishing second the Carousel. After winning nine races in all, with four seconds and six thirds from 24 start, she has boosted her earnings to just over a half-million dollars ($502,425).

A $50,000 weanling at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed sale in 2011, the mare brought $105,000 as a yearling at the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred preferred yearling sale. Champion Racing Stable, Inc. purchased Haveyougoneaway as a 2-year-old for a mere $1,200 at the 2013 Keeneland November sale when she was offered as a racing or broodmare prospect.
