Multiple graded stakes winner and world record-setter Disco Partner has been retired to Rockridge Stud in Hudson for the upcoming 2020 breeding season.

The speedy New York-bred son of Disco Rico won back-to-back renditions of the Grade2/Grade3 Jaipur Invitational Stakes, as well as tallying repeat victories in the Belmont Turf Sprint Invitational Stakes.

Arguably one of Disco Partner’s best career performances came in the 2017 Jaipur, where he stopped the clock in a sizzling 1:05.67 and set a world record for six furlongs on the turf with a 109 Beyer speed figure. He also twice earned Grade 1 placings in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.

“I believe Disco Partner is a very exciting prospect for New York breeders. He had a tremendous amount of speed, and speed is always dangerous. He also had a fantastic turn of foot, and he’s retiring perfectly sound after consistently racing for many years at the highest level,” said his trainer Christophe Clement.

Bred and campaigned by his owner Patricia Generazio and out of the winning Numerous mare Lulu’s Number, Disco Partner retires with 11 wins from 33 starts and $1,487,560 in career earnings.

“We are honored that Mr. and Mrs. Generazio want to stand such an accomplished racehorse with us. He will offer breeders a very nice outcross for many New York mares,” said Lere Visagie, owner of Rockridge Stud. No stud fee has been set.
