By Tom Law

A New York-bred Flatter filly and half-sister to recent stakes winner Makin My Move sold for $260,000 during the third session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale Wednesday in Lexington.

Mike Ryan, agent, bought Hip 984[2], the seventh most expensive horse of the day and third highest-priced filly of the session. Bred by Chester and Mary Broman, foaled at their Chestertown Farm in Chestertown and consigned by Burleson Farms, agent, the filly is out of the stakes-winning More Than Ready mare Hard to Stay Notgo.

The Flatter filly is also the fourth six-figure New York-bred so far at the sale.

A homebred who raced for the Bromans in 2014 and 2015, Hard to Stay Notgo went 3-1-2 and earned $212,440 in eight starts. Trained by Jimmy Jerkens, Hard to Stay Notgo won the Franklin Square Stakes at Aqueduct and Niagara Stakes at Finger Lakes during her 3-year-old season and placed in two other stakes at 2.

Hard to Stay Notgo is the dam of two foals of racing age – the stakes-placed Uncle Mo mare Gotta Go Mo and Makin My Move. Campaigned by the Bromans and trained by John Kimmel, Makin My Move won the Oct. 7 Honey Bee Stakes at the Meadowlands. The 3-year-old New York-bred daughter of Carpe Diem is 4-for-8 with $210,550 in earnings.

Hard to Stay Notgo is also the dam of a New York-bred weanling filly by Mendelssohn born Feb. 25.
