March X Press, winner of a New York-bred maiden and the open-company Bolton Landing Stakes over a 14-day stretch in August 2017, made her fourth pass through the Keeneland sales ring since 2016 Thursday and brought the highest bid of any of the trips.

Offered as Hip 540[2] and in foal to Quality Road, the 6-year-old daughter of Shanghai Bobby sold for $560,000 to Parks Investment Group. Lane’s End consigned March X Press, who did not produce a foal in 2021 and is the dam of a yearling colt by Tapit.

Bred by Pine Ridge Stables and foaled at Waldorf Farm in North Chatham, March X Press is out of the stakes-placed Indian Charlie mare Indian Rush and is a half-sister to stakes winner Harlan’s Honor. She sold to Golconda Stables for $90,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September yearling sale.

March X Press won two of nine starts for Golconda and placed in two other stakes with a pair of four-place finishes in graded stakes for trainer Todd Pletcher. She sold for $275,000 to Jackpot Farm at the 2018 Keeneland November sale then brought $330,000 from Newgate Farm while in foal to Tapit at the 2019 Keeneland November sale. The subsequent Kentucky-bred Tapit colt sold for $700,000 at the recent Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale.

March X Press wound up one of five six-figure New York-breds that sold during Thursday’s session that opened Book 2.

Brookstone Farm paid the second most expensive price of the session, going to $300,000 for Hip 263[4], a weanling filly Munnings foaled in New York. Bred by Dr. Jerry Bilinski, foaled at his Waldorf Farm in North Chatham and consigned by Stuart Morris, agent for Waldorf Farm, the filly is out of the Tiznow mare Storm Crossing.

Waldorf Farm purchased Storm Crossing, carrying in the Munnings filly in utero, for $200,000 at last year’s Keeneland November sale. She’s the dam of five other Kentucky-bred foals, including a colt that sold for $125,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale, the 2-year-old Into Mischief colt that brought $750,000 at last year’s Keeneland September yearling sale and the multiple stakes-placed $268,499-earning 4-year-old Constitution filly Kansas Kis.

Gaelic Gold, a half-sister to multiple New York-bred stakes winner Sea Foam, sold for $275,000 to Dixiana Farms during Thursday’s session. Bred and owned by Waterville Lake Stables and consigned by Winter Quarter Farm, agent, the 4-year-old daughter of Giant’s Causeway was sold as Hip 454[5] in foal to Twirling Candy.
