Grade 1 multi-millionaire Effinex moves to McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds

[1]Press Release

Saratoga Springs, NY—Joe McMahon announced today that Horse of the Year Mineshaft’s leading lifetime runner, multiple-graded stakes winning son Effinex, has relocated to his farm, minutes from Saratoga’s backside.

Retired to stud in 2017, Effinex will be represented by two in-foal mares at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Fall Sale, Monday, October 16 in Saratoga and three at Keeneland November.

McMahon commented on the six-year-old, “Effinex was an absolute stand-out on the track, first in NY at 3, and at 4 and 5, he won or placed in 9 graded stakes nationwide, all G1 or G2 but one. He won the Clark H.-G1 at Churchill, the Suburban H.-G2 at Belmont (twice), the Oaklawn H.-G2 and earned a 112 Beyer Speed Figure when 2nd to American Pharoah in the Breeders’ Cup Classic-G1 at Keeneland.” Adding, “Now that’s a racehorse, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him at our farm.”

Out of the E Dubai mare What a Pear, Effinex hails from the family of Kentucky Oaks-G1 winner Blush With Pride, dam of world record price mare and broodmare of the year Better Than Honour. Effinex joins Central Banker and Teuflesberg at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. Property of a syndicate, Effinex stood for $10,000 live foal in 2017 and will return at that price in 2018.
