First foal arrives for New York stakes winner Japan

Waldorf Farm announced that the first foal by stakes-winning, graded stakes-placed Japan, a son of Medaglia d’Oro, was born on January 27.

The bay filly out of multiple stakes winner Lovely Daniella (9 wins, $171,942), was bred by Blue Star Stable and Michael Ferraro and was foaled at Waldorf Farm in North Chatham. Japan bred 61 mares his first year at stud in 2016. His stud fee in 2017 is $3,500 live foal stands and nurses.
