Gary Barber’s Whatawonderflworld (Tiz Wonderful) rallied late to take the $100,000 OBS Championship Stakes by a length at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 27th annual Day of Champions on Tuesday at the Ocala Training Center. Jose Lezcano rode the winner, who ran the mile and a sixteenth in 1:45 flat, for trainer Mark Casse.

After breaking his maiden at second asking going seven furlongs on turf at Belmont on October 11, Whatawonderflworld turned right around to beat a state-bred allowance field at one mile on the Aqueduct sod on November 19. A gelding bred by T/C Stable LLC, Whatawonderflworld is out of Celtic Sunshine, a winning daughter of Victory Gallop who has produced six winners from six starters, including Parx stakes winner Warriorscmoutoplay (Warrior’s Reward). She has a yearling colt by Dublin on the ground and was bred last year to Shackleford.

Whatawonderflworld was sold for $50,000 by James Layden, Agent, to T M Ventures at the 2015 OBS June Sale after working a quarter in :21 2/5.
