Thomas Coleman’s Grade 2-winning New York-bred Zivo has been recently retired to stud at Irish Hill Century Farm in Saratoga Springs.

Trained by New York native and leading trainer Chad Brown, Zivo was a nine-time winning millionaire, whose career-defining win came in the Grade 2 Suburban where he defeated Graded Stakes winners Moreno, Micromanage, Last Gunfighter and Vyjack. He then went on to run second in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes behind Classic winner Tonalist while beating Moreno and Micromanage again.

Important New York stakes wins include the Whodam, Kings Point and the Commentator Handicap. In Zivo’s career of 19 starts, 18 took place in the state of New York with the lone start out of New York taking place in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Santa Anita.

Trainer Chad Brown said, “Zivo is one of the most durable and talented horses I have trained to date. He raced year round in New York throughout his career, all of his starts on the dirt. I can’t wait to see what his offspring can do!”

Zivo is from a very deep female family represented by two-time Japanese Champion and perennial leading sire, Symboli Kris S, as well as Dubai World Cup winner, Well Armed, who won multiple Grade 1 stakes and over $5 million in earnings.

Zivo will be the lone stallion standing stud at Rick Burke’s Irish Hill Century Farm. He will be supported by mares from Coleman’s, broodmare band, Irish Century Hill, and the commercial breeding operations of The Club and Off The Hook.

The first year stud fee will be $6,000. Marketing will be handled by Sean Feld of Feld Family Stallions, who can be contacted at (859) 519-9665 or for more information, please contact Rick Burke of Irish Hill Century Farm at (518) 527-2701.
