FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Breakin the Fever [Roaring Fever] was a convincing winner of the $50,000 Ontario County Stakes at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) on Friday. He took the 31st renewal of the dash for New York-bred 3-year-olds by seven and one-quarter lengths.

Trainer Debra Breed registered her first career stakes victory in the sixth race. Breed is also the breeder and owner of the bay gelding.

“He is a homebred that we loved from the very beginning,” said Breed. “We are excited he is doing so well”.

Breakin the Fever recorded the quickest six furlong time of any FLGR horse this season. His final time of 1:09.76 was also the second fastest in the history of the Ontario County Stakes.

The $217,321-earner notched his seventh victory in his fifteenth career start and paid $2.90, $2.10 and $2.40. Gypsum Johnny was a distant second and returned $3.30 and $2.90. Fallfire was third and paid $5.80.
