Freud represented by first Argentina-bred winner

Freud was represented by his first Southern Hemisphere-bred winner Jan. 3 when his 2-year-old Tiffany Blue captured Premio Especial Palmarola at the Hipodromo Argentino De Palermo. (VIDEO)

Bred by Haras Santa Ines from the stable of Los Luises, the dark bay filly is out of Southern Halo mare Telefonico. She is from Freud’s first crop bred in Argentina where he stands at Alberto and Renata Stein’s Haras La Leyenda.

“We are so excited for our friends in Argentina to see Freud’s first Argentinian babies start running down there. He is as solid as they come so we are sure their hard work will pay off,” said Becky Thomas of Sequel New York. “Tiffany Blue is sure to be the first of many.”

Freud, New York’s s leading sire of stakes winners, has returned for North American duty at Sequel Stallions New York in Hudson for the 2014 season. In North America he is the sire of 10 crops of racing age with 259 winners and progeny earnings of $28,438,048. He will be available for inspection at the Sequel Stallion Show on January 25 along with Desert Party, Emcee, Forty Tales, Mission Impazible, Noble Causeway and Noonmark.
